هل يوجد علاج واحد؟

Even without these signs, new double vision needs examination to find whether the cause is in the eyes, nerves or elsewhere.
Does one image disappear when you cover an eye?
Covering one eye can help describe the symptom. If the double image disappears when either eye is covered, the eyes may not be aligned together. If two images remain while looking through one eye, a surface or lens issue may be involved. This clue alone cannot diagnose the cause.
Several possible causes
Double vision may relate to eye-movement muscles or nerves, thyroid disease, injury or medicines, and sometimes a change within the eye itself. Some causes are minor and others need rapid treatment, so age or a photo cannot identify the cause.
Signs that need emergency care
Seek emergency help for sudden double vision with arm or leg weakness, numbness, trouble speaking or walking, a suddenly drooping lid, a new pupil difference, severe headache or major dizziness. Do not wait after a head or eye injury.
How is it assessed?
The ophthalmologist asks when the double vision began, how images separate and whether covering an eye changes it, then checks vision, pupils, eye movements and lids. Blood tests, imaging or another specialist may be needed based on findings. Not everyone needs a scan.
Is there one treatment?
Treatment depends on the cause. Some people may use prism glasses or temporary activity adjustments, while others need care for a thyroid, nerve or muscle problem. Do not use an eye patch long term or start exercises or drops before the cause is understood.
